She came to the United States at 13 as a refugee from the Soviet Union with no English and no money, starting over in the projects outside Detroit. She learned to speak English by watching Who’s The Boss? on TV.
She went on to build a career spanning McKinsey, Microsoft, and venture capital, becoming the youngest and only female Managing Director at a New York venture firm at 25. As a founder or executive, she built five tech startups, including founding and leading Happier, one of the world's first gratitude platforms, which helped hundreds of thousands of people around the world lead happier lives.
But at the peak of her success, Nataly burned out. That burnout became the catalyst for her most important reinvention, and for the REINVENT•ABILITY™ Framework she now brings to leaders and organizations around the world.
Today, Nataly delivers keynotes and leadership experiences for leading organizations around the world, helping their people grow and reinvent through change.
She advises founders and leaders at pivotal moments and guides them to build the internal operating system and external strategy to create their next era of work and impact. Nataly has helped spark more businesses, books, podcasts, and reinventions than she can count.
She is also the co-founder, with her husband Avi Spivack, of Dare Yourself Ventures, a venture studio building products and experiences that help people turn doubts into dares.
Nataly’s work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, Forbes, and hundreds of other publications.
She is the best-selling author of Happier Now, The Awesome Human Project, and The Awesome Human Journal, and hosts the DARE YOURSELF podcast.
At 40, she picked up a paintbrush for the first time. At 50, she had her first international show in Mexico City.
Nataly does not believe patience is a virtue, loves bold colors, and proudly holds the title of funniest person in her family, a distinction her husband and daughter have never once disputed. (This is obviously a joke.)
